We are here to tell the story of Chennai’s unique relationship with water. We are here to listen to the land and build with intention and reverence. We believe that true beauty is not imposed: it is uncovered, revealed, allowed to breathe.

Our design process was less about imposing our ideas onto the site and more about understanding the site, imagining and interpreting the landscape and its unique relationship between built form and water. The architecture and materiality are rooted in the culture and geology of the site.

Every home at Sanctuary is informed by its immediate environment, whether that be a historical detail or the cultural influences that shape the landscape’s unique identity.”
